Ridgely's Record
December 2004
Ridgely's Annual Holiday Party
You are invited to join your neighbors at the annual holiday party on
Wednesday, December 8th at Sliders. The celebration begins at 7:00pm on
the second floor. The event is a pot luck dinner and cash bar, so bring
your favorite dish to share. Don't like to cook? Bring cheese and crackers,
cookies, veggies and dip or a salad; these are always a big hit! Or if
you prefer, you can chip in some cash that we will use to buy a platter
from Sliders. Sharon has graciously volunteered to insure we don't all
bring fruitcake, so give her a call at 410-385-1213 or e-mail sreuter@ridgelysdelight.org
so she'll have an idea of who will bring what. Now for the best part!
We will be collecting men's toilettries for the South Baltimore Homeless
Shelter (www.sbshelter.org). Please bring items such as shampoo, soap,
toothbrushes, combs, deodorant, mouthwash and razors to donate. Please
bring full sized items, not hotel or travel samples.
Community Meeting
In light of the holiday party there will not be a community meeting this
month. Visit the Ridgely's website for the date, time and location of
the next communtiy meeting.
Holiday Openhouse
One of our newest neighbors, the Cappoochino Café will be holding
a holiday openhouse on December 20th. Coffee, hot chocolate and cookies
will be served. Stop by the Café for more info.

Leaf Collection 2004
City sanitation crews pick up bagged leaves on the second trash collection
day for Baltimore city residents (Friday here in Ridgely's). Put out securely
bagged leaves with the trash on Friday mornings. Collections continue
through January 31, 2005.
City Smart Safety Tip
As the holidays approach this is a time to take extra precautions regarding
home security. Thieves know there are fewer neighbors on the look out
for suspcious activity, because many residents travel. Timers on lights
can be a simple theft deterrent.
Join Citizens on Patrol
Help make Ridgley's Delight safer. Jjoin Citizens on Patrol (COP). It
provides an important service and is fun and easy to boot. COP patrols
cover four of the eight nights each month when walking patrolmen from
BPD aren't avialable, and we would like all eight covered. Your commitment
would be 4 hours per month. Call Paul at 410-837-6321.
