Community Meeting
There will be a board meeting on Wednesday, September 1 at 7:00 at Sliders Bar and Grille. The meeting will be followed by a community “Welcome Back” happy hour upstairs from 7:30 until the crowd goes home. Everyone in the neighborhood is welcome to attend the event, which will feature cash bar. New residents, don’t miss this opportunity to meet your neighbors and pick up information on living in Ridgely’s Delight. Students, come out and meet walking buddies, and find out how to make the most of your stay in Baltimore. Long-time residents, reconnect with old friends and share advice with the new neighbors. This is a community-sanctioned event.

Trash Tips
Trash can become a serious problem in a city neighborhood when it is not disposed of properly. This is not just an aesthetic matter, but a health concern when it attracts rats. It becomes a safety issue when the appearance of the community suggests that the residents don’t care. This attracts crime to the neighborhood.

Please note Baltimore City’s rules for trash collection. Trash collection begins around 7 a.m. Collectors will not pick up material that is improperly put out, and they will not pick up anything that is too heavy to lift. Violations of the rules may lead to fines of $50 to $250.

For regular trash:

  • Collection days are Tuesday and Friday. If collection day is a holiday, the City will not pick up until the next Tuesday or Friday.
  • Trash must be in a can. Loose and/or improperly packed items such as pizza boxes and recycling items will not be picked up.
  • Trash must be set out no earlier than the night before collection day, and trashcans must be removed from the sidewalk following collection.
  • Building materials (e.g., boards, buckets, drywall) and tree cuttings will not be picked up.

Look for more trash information in future issues and in the For Residents section of www.ridgelysdelight.org.

For the schedule of activities, visit www.promotionandarts.com.

More Movies
There will be another free movie in Conway Park on Friday, September 17, starting at 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and your friends and enjoy Shrek. The rain date is September 18. Funding is courtesy of Baltimore Community Foundation.

Community Pitch-in
On Saturday, September 18, a dumpster will be present throughout the day at the corner of South Paca and South Fremont Streets. This is not a formal neighborhood clean-up, and there is no specific meeting time or place. It’s an opportunity to clean up the area around your home. If you need a broom, rake or bags, call Paul at 410-837-6321.
