Garden Commandos
A community board member applied for a grant and was awarded money to
plant two small gardens in Ridgley's Delight. Although we are unsure of
the exact date, we still need to assemble a team of trowel-wielding, Hollytone-spilling,
green thumbed volunteers. We hope it will be a Saturday or Sunday in April
or May. If you are interested in a few hours of rewarding work and you
want to be informed what day this is going to happen, then please contact
Paul Harris at 410-837-6321 or president@ridgleysdelight.org.
As soon as we know a day we will let you know. For God and neighborhood.
Revisit the Ridgely’s Mini Mart
If you haven't been in the Ridgely Mini Mart on Washington Blvd lately,
please make a point to stop by. The new deli is a great addition featuring
meats, cheeses and sandwiches to order.
UMB Housing Fair - April 11
University of Maryland will have a housing fair on Friday, April 11 from
10am-3pm at the Student Union Building. Ridgely's Delight will be represented
along with local apartment complexes. Students are encouraged to stop by
each booth to get housing information and learn about housing opportunities.
If you enjoy living in Ridgely's Delight and can volunteer a few hours
that day, please contact Sharon at 410-385-1213 or sharon@reuter.net.
We will have handouts at the table, but we need people, preferably students,
who can speak on a first hand basis about living in our neighborhood.
If you are a landlord and have current vacancies, you are welcome to leave
material at our neighborhood booth. Please contact Sharon to coordinate
your material.
New Website Launched
The Ridgely's Delight Association recently launched phase one of the new
community website. The site provides information about our neighborhood's
history, businesses within walking distance and important information about
topics that are near and dear to us, such as trash, parking, animal control,
contacts and city services.
In the next few months, we plan to expand the site to include an online
newsletter, a community bulletin board and information about the Association.
Please visit our site at www.ridgelysdelight.org.
